About The Psalm Project

The Psalms are the songs of ancient Israel—the stories of our Christian heritage. To know them is to root ourselves deeply in the rich soil of our faith tradition.

The Psalms are also the prayers that Jesus prayed. To place these prayers into our mouths is to share breath with our beloved Rabbi, mentor, friend, and Savior.

I undertook this “Psalm Project” to more deeply explore these songs and prayers. At four years into the Project, I can say that the Psalms have on every page connected me to Jesus Christ and to a deeper walk of faith.

This site holds the material resulting from this ongoing study: songs to sing in community, ways to pray faithfully and passionately through the huge range of our human experience.
